The Westfield Fire Department recently received a grant from the Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative ’s Operation Round-Up. The grant in the amount of $2,540 was used to purchase reflective safety vests and structural firefighting gloves for all the Department’s members.
Montello Jr./Sr. High Industrial Technology Education teacher Corey Foght has received the Wisconsin Technology Education Association’s award for Exemplary Achievement in Technology Education.
County Board Chairperson Bob Miller and County Board Supervisor Jon Sheller were thanked for their many years of service on the Marquette County Board after last week's county board meeting. Both chose to retire from their positions. This was their last county board meeting.

Marquette County Sheriff’s Office now has three Drug Recognition Experts (DRE) since Deputy Colin Zeumer recently qualified after completing both the academic training as well as 60 hours of field training with certified DRE instructors from across Wisconsin and assistance from officers with the City of Milwaukee Police Department.
For the second year in a row, the Westfield varsity basketball ladies are again on the title board with their latest accomplishment being WIAA D4 Sectional Champions, adding to the South Central Conference and D4 Regional championships claimed in recent weeks!
On Sunday morning, March 6, 2022, at 4:40 AM, the Marquette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call regarding a barn fire in Springfield Township. Fire departments from Springfield, Village of Westfield, Harris and Newton were all paged, along with Marquette County EMS and Sheriff’s deputies.
Two quick wins last week sealed the deal for the Westfield varsity girls’ basketball team as they claimed their second Regional title in as many seasons. Westfield hosted both rounds of the WIAA Division 4 Regional last week. On Friday, they hosted Colby, playing to an easy 74-42 win.
A high-speed vehicle pursuit that began in Green Lake County and ended with a vehicle crash on County Road K, Town of Packwaukee, in Marquette County last Friday evening led to the arrest of, and felony charges filed against Austin E. Manthey, 20, of Montello.
