Montello High School Prom to be held May 7

Montello High School will be hosting their annual Junior Prom on Saturday, May 7. The theme is “Enchanted Forest.” Class March will be at 8:30 and Grand March will be at 9pm in the Montello High School Community Room. The cost for students will be $10 per couple or $15 per individual.

Germania Benefit event takes place Saturday, April 29th

Germania will be the hub of all things fun this Saturday, as the community will host their 28th Annual Parade & Benefit event.

Activities run from 9 a.m. to midnight, starting with a 5K run/walk at 9 a.m. Registration information is available at the Longbranch Saloon.

Brakebush employee is among 4 to be inducted into Driver Hall of Fame

Montello Lions spruce up the waterfalls

In anticipation of Spring, members of the Montello Lions Club and a few extra helpers spent a very cold Saturday morning cleaning up around the waterfalls in downtown Montello on April 16th. Fish-N-Fun Button Winner is named

Josey Gilbertson, a junior at Montello High School, was named the winner of this year’s Fish-N-Fun Button Design Contest. Josey received a $100 check from the Montello Area Chamber of Commerce, presented by members Bill and Carol Faulkner. Dakota Dedrick, a sophomore at MHS, was named this year’s runner-up. Marquette County off-duty deputy is charged in investigation

Marquette County Sheriff’s Office Deputy, Travis Bittelman, was arrested April 6th on charges relating to an ongoing investigation into allegations that the deputy was engaging in potentially inappropriate sexual behavior.

Preliminary Election Results Reported

Marquette County’s Spring Election on April 5th resulted in a light turnout this year. There was a total of 2,197 voters at the polls, representing a 17.5% voter turnout.
