Curator and Secretary of the Marquette County Historical Society Carol Claesges was named Hero of History for 2022 by the Marquette County Historical Society at the annual meeting. President Rich Faltz presented Carol with a certificate and a gift of appreciation. Her name was added to the Hero of History plaque in the museum in Westfield.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency 911 call on Tuesday, November 8th, at 2:51 p.m., reporting a house explosion at 345 County Hwy. B on Kilby Lake, in the City of Montello.
The Sheriff’s Office just received 15 new AEDs (Automatic External Defibrillator) for their vehicles which were purchased using $30,000 of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) money. The defibrillators will replace those in vehicles and in their offices which are outdated or expired and no longer serviceable. These new defibrillators should be good
Montello businesses and local non-profits will host the Montello Holiday Trail again this year on Saturday, November 19th. The trail unites local businesses and nonprofit organizations in promoting their events planned for this day.
The beloved Montello Women's Club Flower Show is back and will he hosted by the Montello Historic Preservation Society on Thursday, November 17 at the Montello High School. Featuring three florists, the doors open at 6 and the show begins at 7 PM.
