There was a great deal of excitement around Westfield Area High School/Middle School when the winners of the 2023 Herb Kohl Awards were announced. On the day the winners were announced, it was learned that Emma Hamilton has been named as a Herb Kohl Excellence Scholar.
Montello Theater in downtown Montello has an exciting day planned for this Saturday, April 8th. They are having an Open House from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. preceding the new Super Mario Brothers movie showing.
This year’s winner of the 2023 Fish N Fun Button Contest is Montello 7th grader Charlee O’Malley. There were nine entrees this year - great interest from students! This year Fish N Fun is May 5,6,7 with many events planned for the whole weekend.
Westfield’s American Legion Post 244 presented a check to the Westfield Girl Scout Troop 6283. Presenting the check was Commander Joe Stieber to Girl Scout Leader Samantha Bailey. Also present was Financial Officer of Post 244, Perry Drew. The funds were raised in part from the Cans for Scouting collection site at the Post Hall.
Eighteen Montello students were among hundreds of students from grades 4-8 who traveled to UW-Madison on February 28, 2023 in order to take on other like-minded students from school districts in the greater Madison area. The competition was a popular math game called Math 24, and each grade level competes at their own version of the card game,
The Spring general election takes place throughout Wisconsin on Tuesday, April 4th, highlighted by a very hotly contested race for Justice of the Supreme Court in Wisconsin between Janet Protasiewicz and Daniel Kelly. The primary for this race attracted a high turnout of voters and may do the same on Tuesday.
State Representative Jon Plumer visited Endeavor-Moundville Fire Department last week to present Mike Carlton a plaque from the Wisconsin State Legislature recognizing his efforts to save Arnie Schehr from a house fire at his home on County Rd. CX.
