Halie Maier of Endeavor is named the 2021 Marquette County Fairest of the Fair

Halie Maier, 20, the daughter of Susie and Kevin Maier of Endeavor, is our 2021 Marquette County Fairest of the Fair. She attends UW-Platteville pursuing degrees in animal science and agribusiness. She is the treasurer for Sigma Alpha (a professional agricultural sorority) and treasurer for Rotaract (campus community service organization). Maier is also a UW-Platteville Ag Ambassador. Maier graduated from Portage High School, where she served as vice president of the FFA chapter.

Maier said she is excited to be the 2021 Marquette County Fairest of the Fair. The fair was one of the highlights of her summers for many years. She said she especially enjoyed showing beef and swine, photography and food projects.

Maier is proud of the work ethic gained by exhibiting at the fair, volunteering to clean the fairgrounds and working in the 4-H food stand for the past several years. She continues to work hard at her job at the UW Platteville Pioneer Dairy Farm and with her current summer internship at ABS Global. This same work ethic will continue to serve her as she pursues a career as an Animal Health and Nutritionist.

Maier was crowned by Tori Timme, the 2018 Marquette County Fairest of the Fair. When looking back on her year as fairest, Timme said her best experiences were meeting people and being given the opportunity to share her love of agriculture. The memories made were by far her favorite part of representing the Marquette County Fair.

Marquette County’s Fairest of the Fair 2021 Halie Maier invites everyone to come to the Marquette County Fair July 8-11, 2021, held in Westfield, WI. Grandstand events include Bull Riding, Tractor Pulls, and Harness Racing.
