Governor Tony Evers and his wife Kathleen visited some Wisconsin communities on Friday, July 23rd, making a stop in Montello along the way. Kathleen’s Flour Bin owner Kathleen Ludwikowski received a surprise phone call the day before, saying the Governor was planning a stop at her bakery around noon on Friday. Earlier on Friday, the Governor and Mrs. Evers, along with several of his staff, made a visit to the Columbia County Fair in Portage, then stopped at Kathleen’s for coffee and baked treats. They went on to Wausau after that, aides said. During their stop, the Governor and Mrs. Evers spent about half an hour sitting and chatting with the bakery owner about her business, as well as her background in both the business and healthcare sectors. Afterwards, Governor Evers Tweeted, “Had a great time visiting Kathleen's Flour Bin in Montello. Kathleen's Flour Bin was one of our #COVID19 relief grant recipients, so I had fun seeing their good work firsthand. Our small businesses are helping power our state's economic recovery—and they have good treats, too!”
