RoseMary Neuburg


RoseMary Neuburg, age 78 of Westfield, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at her residence. She was born on October 17, 1929 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Clarence and Irene (Brill) Neumann. Rosemary worked as a seamstress in Westfield for over 35 years.

Survivors include two sisters, Rita Schmidt, FL. and Barbara (Roland) Lord, Mauston; one brother, William (Judy) Neumann, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service for Rosemary was held on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Westfield East Cemetery with Rev. Michael Richel officiating.

Steve Routson


Steve Routson, age 58 of Oxford, died Sunday, July 20, 2008 at his residence. Steven was born January 1, 1950. Steve was raised by his parents William and Caroll Contell in Des Moines, Iowa where he attended Lincoln High School, and later went to Drake University. In his 3rd year of college Steve enlisted in the Army and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. Steve was employed at the Oxford Prison for 22 years, retiring in 2000.

Steve is survived by his sons, Chad (Carrie) Routson of Reedsburg, Eric (Deann) Routson of Portage, Adam (Jolene) Routson of Pardeeville; a brother Dave (Marg) Routson of Minnesota and his 5 grandchildren, Cohl, Madison, Alyssa, Ashlyn and Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial gathering was held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford.

Betty Seidler


Betty Seidler, age 68 of Mauston, died Friday, July 11, 2008 at her residence. Betty was born October 31, 1939 in Wauwatosa, the daughter of James and Mildred (Howland) Gunn. Betty loved bowling and bicycling. She was also a die-hard Packer fan.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Kim) Donkle of Madison and Linda Frommung of Baraboo; sons, Tracy (Kathy) Seidler of Wisconsin Dells, Paul Seidler of Mauston, Kevin (Jean) Seidler of Adams, Jeff (Lynn) Seidler and Chris (Angel) Seidler both of Milwaukee; sisters, Delores Morris, Shirley Koch, Beverly Oberdorf all of Wisconsin Dells; Dorothy Wilkosz of Mauston and Karen (Louie) Wogelfart of Oxford; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Gunn.

Oliver James Seldal


Oliver James “Ollie” Seldal, age 74 of Montello, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 surrounded by his family. He was born on November 1, 1933 in Madison, the son of Arnie and Freida (Zingg) Seldal. Ollie graduated from Oregon High School in 1951. He worked and lived on the Peterson farm in Oregon, then worked 40/60 on the farm with his sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Gene Nelson. Ollie married Donna Lundeberg on February 27, 1954, at West Koshkonong Lutheran Church, Stoughton. He became a milkman for Bowman Dairy, then took over ownership of the family’s grocery business, Northside Market, in Cottage Grove, in 1962. Ollie was one of the first developers in Cottage Grove, Developing subdivisions from property obtained from the Uphoff family. He built a shopping center in 1976 and named the streets after his family. Ollie enjoyed serving his community and was a former member of the Lion’s Club, Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department and Certified Grocers Association. Ollie was a man with natural abilities and talents, always accomplishing what he set out to do. He also loved the outdoors.

Ollie is survived by his wife, Donna Seldal of Montello; five children, Connie (Russell) Notstad of Cottage Grove, Bonnie (Robert) Vine of Pardeeville, Cheryl Seldal (special friend, Robert Vejvoda) of Montello, Lori (Robert) Boomsma of Columbus and Roland (Kimberly) Seldal of Savannah, GA; 15 grandchildren, Jennifer and Sara Notstad, Christina (Nathan) Gascho, Heather and Andrew Paape, Nathan, Karen, David and Steven Pappe, Robert Fredenberg, Elizabeth and Emilie Boomsma, Lindsay Seldal and Autumn and Derek Hines; three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Cole Gascho, and Christian Paape; siblings, Arnold (Lillian) Seldal of Pardeeville, Marion (Gene) Nelson of Hayward, Jo Ann Twist of Dextor, MI. and Erma (Russell( Olson of DeForest; sister-in-law, Betty Seldal of Madison; many close friends from Cottage Grove and Montello and other family. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Russell Seldal; and a sister, Ruth Wurgler.

Funeral services were held at Hope Lutheran Church, 3702 County Highway AB, McFarland, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2008 with the Rev. Richard Blomker presiding. Entombment at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation was held at Gunderson East Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 208 and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

Ollie was a man who love his wife, family and friends. He will be missed by all.

Wilbert J. (Bill) Wegner


Wilbert J. (Bill) Wegner, age 87 of Montello, passed away early Thursday morning, July 17, 2008 at his home, with his family by his side. Bill was born on January 16, 1921 in Montello, a son of Herman and Alma (Zellmer) Wegner. He married Arlowayne Blada on June 5, 1948 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Montello. Bill was a lifelong farmer in the town of Mecan, where together they raised their family. Bill was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Big Mecan, where he was baptized and confirmed.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his four children, Greg (Betty) Wegner of Princeton, Gary Wegner of Pensacola, FL, Cheryl Wegner, special friend, Paul Nikolai of Princeton, John Wegner, special friend, Nancy Vaa of Montello; daughter-in-law, Marvis Wegner of Montello; two sisters, Dorothy Seehaver of Lady Lake, FL, Elly (Karl) Kantorowicz of Ripon; four grandchildren, Heather (Kurt) Schwochert of Montello, Aaron (Alicia) Wegner, Jacob (Jennifer) Wegner and James (Sarah) Wegner all of Princeton; 9 great-grandchildren, Travis, Tonya, Taylor, Carson, Trenton, Kyle and Tori Wegner, Dillian and Josh Schwochert; special sister-in-law, Marion Zuehls; brothers and sister-in-laws; nieces, nephews and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis and his first wife, Gloria Priebe Wegner and infant daughter, Sarah; brothers, Harold, Clarence and Arthur.

Visitation was held Monday, July 21, 2008 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home in Princeton. A funeral service for Wilbert (Bill) Wegner took place on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church (Big Mecan), of Montello with Rev. Peter Zietlow and Rev. Paul Kolander officiating. Burial followed the service at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.
