Lucille Ellinger


Lucille M. Ellinger, age 89 of Montello/Westfield, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Montello Care Center. She was born on September 8, 1920 in Athens, WI, daughter of the late Henry and Clara (Laufer) Esselman. Lucille married George H. Ellinger on July 26, 1944 in Reno, Nevada, he preceded her in death on March 9, 2007.

Survivors include one son, John (Denise) Ellinger, Montello; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Beaurain, Casco and Clarice Cotter, Montello; son in law, Fred (Michell) Henderson, CA; sister in law, Hada Ellinger, Madison; other relatives and friends. Lucille was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Henderson; four brothers and two sisters.

A funeral service for Lucille was held on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield with Rev. Michael Richel officiating. Interment was in Westfield South Cemetery. A visitation was held on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Memorials are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association. Edward M. Fesus


Edward M. Fesus, age 68, of Montello passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 19, 2010 near Sparta, WI doing something he loved, riding his bicycle. Ed was born on October 4, 1941 in Chicago to Louis and Margaret (Fodor) Fesus. Ed married Mary Lou Hepler on November 10, 1962 in Chicago and together they moved to various parts of country following Ed’s employment in the rubber industry.

Ed was a talented woodworker and also enjoyed gardening. He was the president of the Marquette County AARP Chapter as well as a member of the Coloma Bicycling Club.

Ed leaves behind his wife, Mary Lou of almost 48 years, two children: Sharon (Gerald) Stewart and Scott (Laura) both of Chicago. Ed is also survived by four grandchildren: Kelsey, Rory, Ashley and Nick as well as other relatives and many friends.

Preceding Edward in death are his parents and one sister, Joyce Fesus.

Jacqueline Jean (Janie) Jahns (Manteufel)


Jacqueline Jean (Janie) Jahns (Manteufel) passed away at the age of 66 on July 16, 2010 in Madison. Janie was born on April 12, 1944 in Oxford and graduated from Oxford High School in 1962. She married Thomas Jahns in 1967 and subsequently had 3 children: Frederica (1967), Jesse (1972) and Justin (1981).

Janie was an accomplished massage therapist creating successful massage venues in Oxford, Portage and Madison. She was responsible for creating the Massage Therapy Program at MATC in Madison as well as for writing the curriculum, which continues to be successful to this day. Janie was a Certified Life Coach and there are many that give credit to her guidance in helping them reach a fuller life potential.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Anne Manteufel in 1999, by her daughter, Fredi Jahns-Connell in 2003 and her brother, Roger Manteufel in 2005.

She is survived by her sons, Jesse (Lee) Jahns and Justin Jahns; her grandchildren, Ana Jahns (Galin), Cody Jahns-Wroten, Kali Jahns-Connell and Travis Jahns; her son-in-law, Michael Connell; her sister, Gloria Thesen; three maternal aunts, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her dear friend of 60 years, Jeri McFarlin-Gregouire.

The family would like to thank the numerous friends, relatives and professionals who provided Janie with care and visits throughout her illness. Many were there every day and she received hundreds of supporting phone calls.

A Celebration of Janie’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 14th at 2 p.m. at the Oxford Town Park in Oxford. Attendees may bring a dish to pass and a bouquet of flowers in a vase if they so desire.
