Pair up Westfield Rendezvous with a Marquette County Chapter Ice Age Trail Hike and you’ve got a great fall weekend in Wisconsin.  Westfield Rendezvous Days starts on Friday, September 28 at the Marquette County Fairgrounds on Main Street/County Road M, south of Westfield, featuring a fur trade/pioneer encampment, Gun and Collectible Show as well as the Habitat for Humanity Rummage Sale and runs through Sunday, September 30.

Saturday, September 29, start your day with the Ice Age Trail Rendezvous Hike where you’ll get a free button, one of six available during the 2012 Ice Age Trail hikes.  Meet at Pioneer Park at the trailhead located on Pioneer Park Road (turn north on Pioneer Park Road off J by McDonald’s) at 9 AM.  Hike the .5 mile School View Hill trail to the Andy Polk Memorial Labyrinth at Westfield High School.  Take time to walk the labyrinth, then head back to the park or walk to the Fairgrounds for Rendezvous Days where you’ll find food and entertainment.  Rendezvous admission price includes the Gun and Collectible Show.

There are just two more hikes left in 2012 with the Marquette County Chapter of the Ice Age Trail. After the Rendezvous Hike, the last one to put on your calendar will be on October 13 from 10 to 12:00.  It’s the annual Fall Color Hike at the Fox River Refuge.  This hike is offered through a collaboration with the Wisconsin Friends of John Muir and will be led by a knowledgeable refuge guide from US Fish and Wildlife .  Take advantage of the rare opportunity to hike the Refuge, which is not typically open to the public. Contact johnmuirwi@gmail.com with questions.

So plan a fall weekend in Marquette County with Westfield Rendezvous and a Marquette County Chapter Ice Age Trail Hike on Saturday, September 29.  See you at 9 AM at Pioneer Park and you can wear your free Ice Age Trail Hike button after the hike at the Westfield Rendezvous at the Marquette County Fairgrounds.
