Danelle Schmidt joins Montello School Board

Danelle Schmidt was elected to the Montello School Board in the April 1st Spring Election, the only candidate on the ballot to replace Debbie Daniels, who chose not to run for re-election this year.

While originally from California, Schmidt moved to Westfield when she was a sophomore in high school. Nearly 18 years ago she married Montello resident Curt Schimdt. After moving around the country for job opportunities, they returned to Montello five years ago and currently own and live in Curt’s childhood home.

They have four children, Peyton, 7th grade; Shad, 1st grade; Norah, Kindergarten; Levi, pre-school.  When not working in Sun Prairie as a Senior HR Systems Analyst, she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with the family. They like to swim, camp, golf, and run. They even tried skiing for the first time this year and had a blast!

When asked why she wanted to be on the school board, Schmidt stated, “Having four children, I have a vested interest in the success of our schools. I have a personal interest in preserving and improving quality and sustainability in our school system.”
