Bowls for Hunger dinner is Monday
The students and staff at Westfield Area High School have spent the last three plus weeks forming, trimming, decorating and firing stoneware bowls for use at the 16th annual “Bowls for Hunger” soup supper. The proceeds of this supper all go to the Marquette County “Care and Share” food pantry.
The meal starts at 4:00 pm Monday, December 10th and goes until 6:30 pm in the Westfield Area High School Cafeteria.
Over one thousand bowls will be available to choose from as patrons of the meal dine on a meal consisting of different soups, salad, dessert and beverage. Patrons are then encouraged to keep the stoneware bowl and enjoy it for years or to gift it to someone else in order to make the cause of feeding the hungry more visible.
Hundreds of students and faculty over the years have helped make this a very important fundraiser for the food pantry. Many area businesses and individuals have generously donated money to support this program and assure that all funds raised in this program go directly to the food pantry.
The cost of the supper is $6.00 and it is asked that patrons bring at least on non-perishable food item to donate that evening. It is a great night of giving and sharing.
